Asha Tandoori Restaurant

Indian Lady Playing a SitarAsha, which means hopeful or optimistic, is often used as a name for Indian girls, whose families hope it will bring luck.

We gave our restaurant this lucky name when it first opened its doors in 1977. Asha Tandoori has served only the finest traditional Indian cuisine ever since. This has been recognised by the Cobra Good Curry Restaurant Guide, which has included us many times in its list of the best 500 Indian restaurants, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Newsflash!

Asha Tandoori now offers it customers a Banquet Night every Tuesday. This is fantastic value – for £7.95 you can order a starter, a main course, a side dish, rice and bread. Just one exception – all king prawn dishes are £3.00 extra. And, of course, drinks are not included. Come along any Tuesday evening and enjoy this great value offer – and don't forget to bring your friends!

A view of the restaurant

Our well stocked bar

Our chef, Mr. Sahid, has been working his masterpieces with us since 1980. He is always delighted to create something wonderful for you. Besides the well known favourites of the Anglo-Indian kitchen, he has put together his signature Healthy Option Garlic Dishes, knowing how health conscious people are these days. Garlic is an excellent herb for general good health, rich in vitamins A, B and C and effective against colds, it is said.

Our manager, Mr. Mia, greets his customers with a smile, for he knows that Asha provides a memorable dining experience in a restaurant with the best contemporary styling, the finest food and wines, served by attentive waiting staff, who are always willing to please.
